Why people are looking for this
Rockwell states that RSLogix 5 reached its final lifecycle phase on December 31, 2025, and that new RSLogix 5 activations are no longer available for purchase after that date. Rockwell also states that RSLogix 5 continues to be supported through Rockwell Automation technical support.
The full lifecycle picture, including the PLC-5 hardware dates, is on our RSLogix 5 lifecycle briefing.
Meridian analysis — our read, not a manufacturer statement
Meridian's read: a discontinued programming package is a different kind of problem from a discontinued module. A spare processor can sit on a shelf; a software activation cannot, and the day you need it is usually the day something has already gone wrong. We supply TOPDOC as a current-production product from its manufacturer. We do not assess whether it suits your system — SoftPLC does that with you directly, which is the right place for it.
The TOPDOC range
SoftPLC publishes TOPDOC editions for three legacy Allen-Bradley platforms. Meridian can supply any of them.
| Edition | Catalog | Platform | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| TOPDOC PLC-5 | TD5-FN | Allen-Bradley PLC-5 series | $3,500.00 |
| TOPDOC PLC-3 | TD3-FN | Allen-Bradley PLC-3 | $3,500.00 |
| TOPDOC PLC-2 | TD2-FN | Allen-Bradley PLC-2 | $2,000.00 |

Disclaimer
Lifecycle and replacement information is for preliminary planning. Compatibility may depend on firmware, hardware revision, wiring, programming, network architecture, safety requirements, and the specific application. A manufacturer-listed successor may require modification or migration and may not be a direct drop-in replacement. Suitability must be verified with the manufacturer or a qualified controls professional.
